I recognize your ideas. Apple, in my Android Police? Who submitted this request? Before you write that you would never choose an 15 Pro iPhone over any of the excellent Android phones available now, however, listen to me out. Samsung’s hardware may rival Apple’s in terms of fit and quality, but the company’s current design aesthetic is beginning to seem obsolete. I find the glossy triangular camera bump bothersome because it seems to be designed to gather dust in your pocket, which microfiber wipes cannot possibly erase. The notch—sorry, Dynamic Island—is a decent attempt to make display cuts meaningful, despite its very basic software. Everything simply appears so outdated, even when compared to Android phones that experience the same issue. The design is dependable and secure, even if it feels so anonymous.
This year, I should be excited about titanium since, if you watch any NFL game, you’ll see a ton of commercials with carriers and Apple discussing the materials used to make this phone. Look, I’m not that misanthropic as to not think it’s a welcome addition. The Pro Max is significantly lighter than its predecessor, even though it is still a large phone.
However, after a few days—or, if you’re like the great majority of smartphone users, once you put it inside a case—it’s simple to forget about Apple’s shift in materials. The fact that I went with the Blue titanium finish instead of Apple’s suggested alternative makes me giggle.

It is a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, resolution of 2796 x 1290, and brightness of 1,000 nits, with the ability to reach 2,000 nits in high brightness mode. Though those nit levels differ, that’s still a fantastic display that can compete with those on Google and Samsung handsets, so don’t worry too much. On this device, images, videos, and games all look fantastic. Additionally, it enables an always-on display much like the gadgets from previous year.
If it looks straightforward, that’s because a screen this excellent is difficult to criticize. It’s not the brightest or clearest smartphone out there, but its display is still the best one I’ve held this year.

Is iOS 9 sufficient even though it’s better than ever?
How on earth is it possible to review iOS on a website that focuses on Android users? I guess I’ll start by posting my previous ideas on the site. Let me start there before I wax eloquently on Apple’s notification system. Many little things that are helpful and unique to iOS are, in my opinion, absent on Android phones. To enable Apple Pay, press and hold the power button twice. Though I wish it was customizable, I find it to be far faster than any lock screen shortcuts. In addition, moving the camera to a different area is made simple with the Action button. Generally speaking, searching the App Store for actual new releases and recommendations is far easier. It is, in fact, jam-packed with trash, much like the Play Store, but Google has the unpleasant habit of placing it on the home screen. That’s not quite as accurate on the iPhone.
Even though I anticipate considerable disagreement regarding the iOS share sheet, I like debate. However, sometimes I feel that Google’s UI, with all of its recommendations and notifications, is a bit too intrusive. I think Android Auto has a considerably better design than CarPlay, even if I believe Apple’s auto-friendly UI has a lot less bugs. This is an important point to remember when discussing safe phone use while driving. How about we give credit to that enigmatic bit of software we use called iMessage? When it comes to texting other users, several of the iPhone’s capabilities are really helpful, and I have no doubt that they will become more popular if Apple approves RCS in 2024.
I know this is becoming a little old, but I wanted to express how awful iOS’s autocorrect is. One of the improvements Apple unveiled on stage with iOS 17 in 2023 was enhanced autocorrection. Typing correct sentences on Apple’s keyboard will render them entirely worthless even if they make sense in context. It will change words seconds after you type them, and you won’t even be able to notice. A message’s final word will change as soon as you hit the submit button.

The Pro Max’s camera is a peculiar device. When it comes to capturing crisp images of my surroundings with no shutter lag, it’s just as reliable as the Pixel’s camera. Whatever the situation, it doesn’t matter if it’s bright outside or dimly lit. The iPhone is able to do that, just as the Pixel 8 Pro. However, the majority of the images I take lack that special something, that something that makes mobile photography intriguing. Using this iPhone for photography feels, to put it mildly, monotonous. Most days, it’s easy to get six or seven hours of screen time in, and that’s only 20 or 30 percent of the total. In other words, this phone is made to last.
I still adore MagSafe, even if Apple, like Google and Samsung, doesn’t appear to be interested in implementing charging speeds higher than 27W. That is still only available on the iPhone (without a cover), but it won’t be for very long as Qi2 is still a ways off.
